Fully Funded Grooming Centre University Grants 2025: A Comprehensive Guide

The Grooming Centre University Grant 2025 is a prestigious research grant designed to foster innovation and social impact through academic research. Organized by Grooming People for Better Livelihood Centre (Grooming Centre), one of Nigeria’s leading microfinance institutions, the grant seeks to empower Nigerian students to develop practical solutions to challenges in areas such as financial inclusion, rural development, social enterprise, and technological advancement.

Now in its seventh edition, the Grooming Centre University Grant is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students conducting research that aligns with the Centre’s mission to lift communities out of poverty.

Grooming Centre University Grant 2025 provides targeted financial support to assist students in completing high-impact research that contributes to social and economic development in Nigeria. The grant benefits are as follows:

To be eligible for the Grooming Centre University Grant 2025, applicants must:

  • Be an undergraduate or postgraduate student enrolled in a Nigerian tertiary institution.
  • Be conducting research in any of the eligible areas listed above.
  • Submit a complete research proposal and supporting documents.
  • Have a recommendation letter from their project supervisor.
  • Ensure that their research is relevant, practical, and innovative.
  • Have completed an empirical review between 2019 and 2025.

Applicants must be students of a Nigerian university or polytechnic accredited by the NUC or NBTE. Their research must fall within the following priority areas:

The selection process for the Grooming Centre University Grant 2025 involves:

  1. Initial Screening: All submissions will be reviewed for completeness, relevance, and adherence to format.
  2. Proposal Evaluation: Shortlisted applications will undergo an in-depth assessment based on innovation, practicality, methodology, and alignment with thematic areas.
  3. Final Selection: 100 undergraduate and 50 postgraduate students will be selected based on merit and notified accordingly.

The grant is awarded for the duration of the applicant’s research project and is expected to support the student through to the completion of their final research submission. All grantees are required to submit a final soft copy of their completed research work upon conclusion of the study, as a condition for the full utilization of the grant.
